Olivér Várhelyi is the European Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare, a position he has held since December 1, 2024. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2024, he served as the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, where he focused on strengthening the EU's relationships with neighboring countries and overseeing enlargement policies.
